Arthur "DeWayne" Wilson, 62, of Lakeland, FL, passed away on March 21, 2024. He was born on November 28, 1961, in Clarksville, TN, to the late Darlene Clardy.
DeWayne, known to his loved ones as a kind and generous soul, was a graduate of Clarksville High School and Austin Peay State University. He went on to work at the Leaf Chronicle newspaper in Clarksville and then was a news and design editor at the Ledger newspaper in Lakeland, Florida for over 20 years. His passion for journalism was evident in his dedication to his work.
In 2012, DeWayne had a successful heart transplant that gave him more time and energy to do things he enjoyed. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling and was an active member of Sigma Nu. His love for exploration and camaraderie with his fraternity brothers brought him great joy.
DeWayne is survived by his sister DeJuan Patrice Davis, niece Stephanie Proska (Rocky), and great niece and nephew Lena and Davis Proska. Rest in peace, DeWayne. You will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved you.
