Candace, known to many as Candy, was born February 17, 1979. Candy was presented back to the Lord as an infant where her spiritual roots began in the AME Church. She later made the decision to be baptized in the name of Jesus whereby there is no other name that we must be saved. Candace was redeemed and finished her course on December 24, 2023.
Candace was a high school honors graduate, obtained an advanced degree, received licensures and credentials, and was an advocate for educational advancement. She worked in various capacities as a medical professional and was last employed by Advanced Correctional Healthcare. She established a reputable mobile notary company. Candace enjoyed outreach, reading and culinary artistry.
Candace is preceded in death by her grandparents, Shedrick Hoosier Sr and Vashti Armeta Hoosier.
Candy will forever be cherished by her daughters Chamani Miller and Chamaia Kellett; son Chamaar Griffin; grandchildren JaMarcus Edwards Jr, Chosen Dycus and Cartier Walker; parents Sammy and Sharon Hoosier Poindexter; brothers Gregory Dickerson Jr, Derrel Dickerson (LaShayra) and Dexter Edwards; sisters Gabriel Dukes and Jessica Foster; uncles Shedrick Hoosier, Jr and George Hoosier I (Karen); loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and, Melvin Wilson, all of whom she adored.
