Elroy Weatherly was born June 1, 1959 in Exmore, Virginia to the union of Vernon “Billy” Giddens and Madlen Weatherly. He departed this life too soon on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at his residence in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Elroy was educated in the Virginia Schools. He was a 1979 graduate of North Hampton High School in Eastern Shore, Va. After High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served his country from 1979 to 1988.
Elroy was united with Macedonia Baptist Church in Guthrie, Kentucky.
Elroy met the love of his life and married his bride Susan Ann Williams on January 3, 1984. For over 39 years they have enjoyed a life full of love and laughter.
Elroy was no stranger to work. After his time in the military, he went on work several other jobs to include food packer, construction worker, mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service, maintenance man, crossing guard for Clarksville Montgomery County School System and finally owner/operator of Weatherly Specialty Service.
Elroy was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Giddens and Madlen Weatherly and daughter, Bridgette Majors.
Those left to celebrate his life and mourn his passing are his loving and devoted wife, Susan Weatherly, daughter, Alvinita (Anthony) Jones, Clarksville, Tn., sons, Rico Majors, Nashville, Tn., Keith Majors, Clarksville, Tn. and Benjamin Becker, Germany, sisters, Annie (James) Kellams, Exmore, Virginia., Janice (Burleigh) Walters, Exmore, Va., Gay (Dana) Roberts, Delaware, and Faith (Rodney) Evans, Delaware, brothers, Joe Weatherly, Exmore, Virginia, Leroy (Linda) Weatherly, Exmore, Virginia., Thomas (Anardia) Weatherly, Chesapeake Va., and Troy (Yashica) Giddens, Delaware, aunt, Rita Young (Billy Ray Williams), Clarksville, Tn., uncles, Eddie Young, New York, Vernon Young, Larry Young and Jimmie Young all of Virginia, sisters-in-law, Ivory (Larry) Moody, and Regina Butler (Curtis Bell), brothers-in-law, Pete Williams and Ricky (Gretchen) Williams, 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren a host of other relatives and friends.
