Everette Kirk Ogburn began his earthly journey on Saturday, June 20, 1964, son to Dorothy Collins and Robert Ogburn in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Everett accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. John Baptist Church. He went to Clarksville Montgomery County Schools and was a graduate of Clarksville High, Class of 1983.
“Lollipop” as he was known as by many, was an awesome athlete and was considered a Clarksville standout. He continued to be untouchable in football and basketball. Known for making long yard runs going in for the touchdown and had the crowd on their feet and the sports announcers going wild.
Everett worked various jobs around Clarksville. He never met a stranger and enjoyed hanging with family and friends, going to the Elks, talking on the phone, and watching TV.
On Sunday, April 20, 2025, Everett transitioned from this life to be with the Lord.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Theodore and Virgie Collins and Cecil and Jodie Ogburn and his daughter, Laquita Smith
He leaves precious memories to be cherished by his children- Antonio Shanklin, Candise Hillman, LaKrisha Smith, and Semajia Ogburn, sisters, EsQurita Ogburn, Renee Sykes, and Robyn Ogburn, brothers, Rodney Sykes, Stanley Dowlen, and Kenneth Sykes. 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, cousins, and friends.
