Joyce Hardy

Mrs. Joyce J. Hardy was born in Clarksville, Tennessee in the Woodlawn community on November 9, 1942, to parents, Willie Lawrence Thomas and Bernice Adele Milan Poindexter. On March 23, 2026, Joyce answered the heavenly call and transitioned from this earthly labor to eternal rest.

Joyce accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. She attended public school.

Joyce was married to the love of her life Leonidas Hardy. They spent many years of love and laughter together.

Joyce worked for the Montgomery County School System for many years until retirement. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Thomas and Bernice Poindexter, husband, Leonidas Hardy, son- Eric K. Harris Sr., and brother, William Thomas.

She leaves to cherish her memory: children- Billy J. Harris, Indianapolis, IN, Lynita Cunningham, Clarksville, TN., sisters- Faye Norris, Louisiana, Romanda Thomas, Atlanta, GA., Kathy Poindexter, Clarksville, TN., grandchildren- Eric K. Harris Jr., Clarksville, TN., Ravon T. Hardy (whom she raised from three days old), Clarksville, TN., Nicolas Harris, Indianapolis, IN., great grandchildren, Serenity Hardy, Clarksville, TN. and Akeem Humphries, special niece, Tiffany Thomas, Atlanta, GA., LaCresha Locke, Toni Roseman, nephews, Anthony Roseman, Dallas, TX. James Poindexter, Clarksville, TN., Clifton Thomas, Hopkinsville, KY, and Walter Meadows, as well as a host of other family and friends.
