William Henry Ragsdale

Mr. William Henry Ragsdale Jr. was born November 02, 1940 in South Hill, Virginia to the proud parents, William H Ragsdale Sr and Anna L Cole Ragsdale. William transitioned peacefully, October 15,2023.

William, affectionately called “Bill” by family and friends. Received his education in the Spring Hill, Virginia school system and graduated from Spring Hill High School. Early in age, he accepted Christ as Lord and Savior and attended Community Chapel Church Fort Campbell, Kentucky until his health prevented him from attending.

William served in the United States Army for 26 years. He retired as a Master Sgt. and after retirement, he worked as an IVC supervisor.

William met the love of his Georgia A Chester and in 2012, they married and shared wonderful years together.

William considered himself to be a “force to be reckoned with on the grill. Which he enjoyed doing and sharing time with family and friends. He loved football and baseball and also loved to travel.

William was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Frankie, Ralph and Henry Ragsdale and also a sister, Maude Jeanette Ragsdale Lewis.

William leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Georgia A Chester Ragsdale. Stepson, Tyrone Hockett. Brothers, John and Howard Ragsdale. LaCrosse, VA. Herbert (Bertha) Ragsdale North Port, Alabama. Sister Margaret R. Spencer, Locust Grove, VA and a host of nieces and nephews, in-laws, family and friends.
